4 Reasons to Love Autumn and Winter

Since Autumn is approaching and Winter will inevitably follow I though it would be a good time to talk about the reasons British photographers should embrace these not so obviously loveable seasons.

Like most people at the end of Winter I am always so happy to be greeted by Spring and overjoyed when Spring moves aside for Summer. The shorter days of Autumn and Winter and the cold wet weather can be depressing so I thought it would be good time to appreciate a few things photographers  can enjoy about these two seasons.

1. The rain creates puddles

It rains a lot in Britain, and yes we love to complain about it.  But one thing to like about the rain is the puddles they create. I love to take photos of reflections in the water when the rain breaks.

2. Guy fawkes night

Guy fawkes night has always been a favourite of mine, I would always go to my village bonfire, get a hot cup of homemade soup, watch the fireworks and of course, I always take my camera!

3. Snow

To me, snow is one of the best things about winter. Snow makes everything beautiful and is definitely something for a british photographer to look forward to!

4. Atmosphere

To me, the Autumn and Winter skys are always so much more atmospheric and interesting to capture. It can also be a lot more challenging to capture a great photograph with an atmospheric sky, and I love a challenge!

What are you looking forward to this Autumn and Winter? Let me know in the comments. I'm in Morocco this week, so I will be sharing my photographs with you next week, see you then!
