Learning in London - The best free museums in London

Today I spent some time with a friend in a couple of the best free museums in London, and like many things in London they are really quite beautiful

The two museums we visited were The British Museum and The Hunterian Museum.

The Hunterian Museum

Whenever I describe this museum to people I generally say, "its a place where they have pretty much pickled everything",  and this is pretty much true. It's not very large but you can definitely spend an hour or two browsing the the collections.

As it says on their website, the museum displays 'human and non-human anatomical and pathological specimens' - and this museum is definitely not for the squeamish!

The British Museum

The British Museum is my absolute favourite museum in London, the architecture of the building is stunning and the collections are impressive and informative.

The museum is famous for its Egyptian exhibition, and yes it is really great, but its other exhibitions are also worth a look at.

Essentially my advice to you is, if you have the opportunity to visit either of these museums, definitely do! What is your favourite museum in London? Let me know in the comments.

See you next Thursday,
